Ryan D. Baughman, Esq. is a native New Mexican. Ryan grew up in Grants, New Mexico and attended Grants High School. Ryan relocated to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 2007 to attend New Mexico State University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in May 2011. After receiving his undergraduate degree, Ryan moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico and worked for several local law firms over the span of two years before beginning law school at the University of New Mexico School of Law. During law school, Ryan maintained a focus on being an advocate for his clients in the courtroom. From the first day of his second year in law school, Ryan was prosecuting cases in Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court through the University’s DWI and Domestic Violence Prosecution in Practice program. Through this program, Ryan was able to prosecute dozens of criminal cases and be the first chair on 12 criminal trials. In addition to this experience, during Ryan’s 3rd year of law school he participated in the UNM School of Law’s Community Lawyering Clinic. While in this clinic, Ryan represented clients in a variety of capacities. The types of cases Ryan handled include: Juvenile Criminal Defense, Family Law, and Bankruptcy.

Ryan graduated law school in May of 2016. After graduation, Ryan worked as a Law Clerk for an Albuquerque law firm where he assisted attorneys in research regarding creditors rights, adoption, and general civil litigation.

In May 2017, Ryan opened The Law Office of Ryan D. Baughman, LLC. Ryan was able to get a quick start to managing a successful practice by being selected as a participant in the Entrepreneurs in Community Lawyering Program created by the State Bar of New Mexico. Ryan’s firm focuses primarily in the areas of Criminal Law, Criminal Expungement, Adult Guardianship, and Personal Injury.
